Gestational diabetes - symptoms and how to test
Gestational diabetes is characterised by elevated blood glucose levels and typically resolves after delivery. Even while it can occur at any time throughout pregnancy, it naturally occurs in the later stages of the pregnancy, namely the third trimester. During pregnancy, every woman is at risk for developing gestational diabetes. However, women of African, Asian, Hispanic, Native American or Pacific Islander heritage over 25 are at a greater risk. The test may be performed earlier than expected if you have a high glucose level in your urine during typical prenatal checkups or if you are at increased risk for developing diabetes.
