Vaginal thrush - symptoms and how to test
Candida albicans overgrowth is the most prevalent cause of vaginal thrush. The genital tract also has a tiny population of this yeast. It's not dangerous in most cases, but an overgrowth of yeast can cause uncomfortable symptoms. In their lifetimes, around 75% of women will get vaginal thrush. Nearly all females will get vaginal thrush at some point in their life. Recurrent thrush affects up to 20% of all females. Thrush may affect anybody at any time in their life, although it is most frequent among women in their twenties and thirties.
