Prostatitis - symptoms and how to test
Inflammation (swelling) of the prostate gland is known as prostatitis. The prostate, or penile gland, is located between the penis and the bladder. It secretes a fluid that combines with sperm to form semen. The onset of prostatitis is not age-specific. Men between the ages of 50 and 59 have a threefold increased risk of developing chronic prostatitis compared to younger men (those between the ages of 20 and 39).
