Oropharyngeal cancers - symptoms and how to test

Head and neck cancers include oropharyngeal cancer. Cancers affecting the oral cavity, nose, pharynx, larynx (voice box), trachea, and oesophagus can sometimes arise together. Oral cavity malignancies are primarily squamous cell carcinomas. Men are twice as likely as women to have this malignancy. It happens to both African Americans and Caucasians in roughly the same numbers. On average, a diagnosis is made among people 62 and older.
