Colon cancer - symptoms and how to test
Tumorous growths in the large intestine can lead to the development of colon cancer. In the U.S., it has risen to the number three spot among all cancers. Water and salt are reabsorbed from defecated matter in the colon. Colon cancer is equally dangerous for men and women. Although it is more frequent in those over 50, colon cancer has been diagnosed in patients as early as their teens. For patients who are otherwise healthy but have never had any symptoms, doctors often suggest screening tests check for colon cancer or polyps that are not malignant.
