Anaemia - symptoms and how to test

If your red blood cell count or haemoglobin levels are below average, you may be suffering from anaemia. Anaemia can affect everyone; however, women are more likely to acquire anaemia. Anaemia is a condition caused by blood loss, such as during menstruation or delivery. If you have fibroids or have heavy periods, you can also acquire anaemia in these cases as well. The amount of RBCs (red blood cells) in their early stages of development is what the test evaluates. The results of this test will reveal whether or not your bone marrow is producing healthy quantities of red blood cells.
